Teaching Spanish to Preschoolers: BODY PARTS

I love movement and visuals. I tend to use both when I am teaching Spanish to preschoolers. Here are a few FREE SPANISH learning videos I use in my classroom.

Spanish Vocabulary Slideshow

Review or introduce body parts in Spanish to children with this great Youtube video clip. Near the end of the video all body parts are showing. I typically have my kids practice their Spanish vocabulary by using my laser pointer and saying the word out loud.

This song is great for review. I have my preschoolers just listen to the song. The song is a little to fast to sing a long or "tocar los partes" touch the body part.

Our Preschool Chinese New Year Party

Lunar New Year Party
Decorated a banner to display that said "Gung Hay Fat Choy"
Played pretend "New Years Eve Feast"

I ordered this sushi set on AMAZON
Coolie hat craft
I am so proud of my kids for trying all the different foods; pork steamed buns, noodles, and fried rice.

I was lucky to have many willing parents cook the food for our CNY party.

Romans 12:10
Here a GREAT SONG for teaching kids about respect! I can't get then video to download on here so be sure to click the link below!!!!!
For FREE music download of this song just click here: I'll walk with you-childrens-songbook
Found the Lyrics to the song on
If you don't walk as most people do (walk fingers along wrist and palm)
Some people walk away from you (walk fingers up thumb)
But I won't, I won't (point to self and nod 'no')
If you don't talk as most people do (move fingers together as if 'talking', or point to mouth)
Some people talk and laugh at you (some talking gesture, or hand on tummy like you are laughing)
But I won't, I won't (same as before)
I'll walk with you (same action as before)
I'll talk with you (again same as before)
That's how I'll show my love for you (point to self, then cross arms across heart, then point outward)

Outdoor Activity: (Red light green light)
There are so many ways to play this game to make it fun and educational. You can practice these colors in Spanish- Amarillo, rojo, verde
spell them out G-O, GO!GO!

It can also be fun to have each color be a different move like hop, tiptoe, skip, jumping jacks. Their jumping jacks are in progress, but hilarious to watch!
My kids like doing "random" sometimes I shout S-T-O-P STOP, then the next time I will say verde.

I found this on a kinder blog. Make sure to check it out She has great ideas!
